Hello Friends of Marginal Way Skatepark-

We've been busy little DIY beavers this winter and have been working
hard on preparing the skatepark for Phase 2! There are two important
fundraisers coming up this spring and we would be extremely grateful
to anyone who could contribute product for our benefit raffles.
These fundraisers are the lifeblood of the skatepark and every penny
goes into making Marginal Way one of the coolest spots to skate in
the Emerald City!

The first event is sponsored by sleestak.net at the new Capitol Hill
rock club King Cobra, Thursday, April 3 (8pm – close, $5 suggested
donation, 21+). The bill features:
All Bets on Death - http://www. myspace. com/allbetsondeath
Same-Sex Dictator - http://www. myspace. com/samesexdictator

The second event will be the final stop on the Thrasher Skate Rock
West Coast Tour taking place down at Ye Olde Marginal Way on Sunday,
May 11th.
For more info check out:
http://www.thrashermagazine.com/index.php?option=com_events&task=view_detail&agid=102&year=2008&month=05&day=11&Itemid=45

In addition, Jeff Amet, of Pearl Jam fame, has donated a truckload of
concrete we are using to pour the 7’ west wall before the Thrasher
event. We’re also hoping to raise enough money from the King Cobra
show to pour the big south end face wall.

We would also like to acknowledge some recent contributions from
skatepark volunteers: Nucor Steel for an additional two tons of
rebar that has allowed us to keep tying rebar while funds have been
short, and Cari Day, a paralegal who has been guiding us through the
complex process of applying for federal non-profit status.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped support the Marginal Way Skatepark!

If you haven't been down to the skatepark for a while there , there have been

We’ve built a cinderblock retaining wall around the perimeter of Phase 2.

Tuesday : December 4: 2007

The Marginal Way Skatepark Association and Seattle skateboarders would like to thank Nucor Steel Seattle, Inc. for their generous donation of 1 ton of 20 3/8 inch rebar to aid in the construction of the non-profit, community built Marginal Way skatepark located in the SODO district of Seattle, Washington.

Let's see, other than that the fundraisers have been a great help, thanks to the local skateboard scene help, support them like they support Marginal. If you have some loose bills please donate to us! We are still about $1,000.00 short from paying off our last concrete pour.

LISTEN UP!

This has never been "officially posted", but here it is.

NO BMX BIKES AT MARGINAL WAY

We built Marginal with or own time, risk, money, and labor. We don't BMX, and honestly we all share the same thought that BMX BIKES doesn’t belong at Marginal Way. They are wrecking up the ledge, the ground, etc.

Find your own spot, build something rad.

Sorry it has to be this way. Don't take it personal.

Happy New Year!

2006 is looking good for Marginal Way. Since the flat was poured and the additions of the quarter pipe, ledge, and barriers we have seen some major use of the place!

Please help us be good neighbors to the City of Seattle and the surrounding business by staying off of the railroad tracks and cleaning up after your trash.

Stay tuned for some future benefit fundraisers that are currently in the process and of course, like always DONATING to Marginal Way if you can.

Every cent helps, and all of it goes directly into Marginal Way.
